A few nights ago, I took a moment to walk around the house to assess the damage. \u00a0The girls were playing in the tub and I had a few moments to straighten things up a bit. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Have you ever had one of those moments where you felt you didn’t know where to begin, so you didn’t? \u00a0<\/p>\n

I decided to take those few moments, not<\/strong> to quickly pick up the house, but rather photograph it. \u00a0I just know one day, one day<\/em>, I’ll miss seeing evidence of this chaos called my life, and I’ll miss it. \u00a0Right? \u00a0<\/p>\n

\"Evidence<\/a>Labels, labels, labels. \u00a0Let me explain. \u00a0One of McCanless’ homework assignments was to label our house. \u00a0She was to start with her bedroom and slowly work her way around the house. \u00a0I assumed she would use words like wall, door, bed, etc., but you know McCanless. \u00a0On day one, she wanted to label every single item we owned. \u00a0We went through hundreds of notecards and tape until I realized that mailing labels work wonderfully. \u00a0I can print off exactly 100 at a time and let her\u00a0have at it! \u00a0 \u00a0Mel only protested when he realized that the toilet had too many labels. \u00a0(She insists on labeling not only items but each part of that item as well…toilet, top, bottom, side, etc.) \u00a0So now our house dons hundreds of mailing labels.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before entering, you must press a photo of either Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus to be able to enter McCanless’ room.<\/p>\n

Groceries waiting to be put away. \u00a0It was one of those days. \u00a0I barely made it inside with the girls, groceries, all of the stuff that accumulates in the car throughout the day, before it began to rain. \u00a0I threw the groceries on the counter and put away the fridge items and left the rest.\u00a0 Apparently<\/em>. \u00a0I guess I never got back around to finishing. \u00a0I had to take a photo because if you’ll notice, almost every item is upside down! \u00a0Typical. \u00a0<\/p>\n

I walked back around to the bathroom because it grew quiet. \u00a0Never a good sign. \u00a0I noticed wet, soapy footprints on the floor. \u00a0Apparently, the girls were concerned and came looking for me. \u00a0So much for straightening up, I’d much rather rinse soapy heads and read bed time stories! \u00a0Those refried beans can be scraped off of the table when they go to sleep!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
