{"id":5324,"date":"2011-03-06T15:00:36","date_gmt":"2011-03-06T20:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=5324"},"modified":"2011-03-06T17:30:25","modified_gmt":"2011-03-06T22:30:25","slug":"exactly-what-i-needed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=5324","title":{"rendered":"Exactly what I needed&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s amazing how sometimes God gives you exactly what you need before you even knew you needed it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This morning, as I began our Sunday morning rush (coffee, breakfast, dressing the girls, tidying up before heading to Sunday school at 9:30), Mel shouted out an invitation as he showered. \u00a0He usually works on Sundays, so the girls&#8217; team typically flies solo. \u00a0I assumed today was like every other Sunday, so it surprised me. \u00a0He was speaking at <a href=\"http:\/\/hartsvillecommunity.org\/#\/calendar\">Hartsville Community Fellowship<\/a> this morning and wanted us to attend. \u00a0Speaking engagements for him are not unusual, but invitations for us are. \u00a0(He loves to have us, it just usually doesn&#8217;t fit into our schedule <em>or<\/em> he forgets to tell me.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mel has such a natural knack for public speaking and I often forget about this jewel of a talent. \u00a0He&#8217;s so charismatic, comfortable and at his best in front of a crowd. I guess with time, you seem to overlook those special qualities and talents in your spouse. \u00a0I do, however, still find him to be one of the most intriguing and uniquely talented people I know. We have always had an amazing relationship. \u00a0One that gets better with each passing year. \u00a0One of his &#8220;traits&#8221; that I have not grown accustomed to is his uber spontaneity. \u00a0I&#8217;m probably the most flexible person ever, but an invitation 5 minutes prior to an event \u00a0is a stretch, even for me. \u00a0I had no idea he was speaking this morning and no idea we would ultimately attend HCF together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is where God stepped in. \u00a0Typically, I would have told Mel he should have told me about this before this morning and rambled on about how I love my own church dearly and I certainly wanted to be apart of the last service I would be attending in several weeks, etc., etc., etc. \u00a0 I would not have gone with Mel. \u00a0Feeling guilty, nonetheless, but not going.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, the girls and I went with my husband.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Not only did I find a renewed attraction to the handsome, confident leader that he is, I was blown away by his sincerity. \u00a0He is deeply committed to me and our family and because of that, he is committed to Hartsville. \u00a0He spoke on behalf of the city and her direction. \u00a0He made everyone laugh. \u00a0He promised his all. \u00a0He made everyone feel at home and safe. \u00a0Exactly why I married him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of an amazing service, the congregation prayed for Mary Clare and our family. \u00a0Mel was very emotional and for a brief moment, I was uncomfortable seeing him so vulnerable. \u00a0It dawned on me then that we need each other. \u00a0More now than ever before.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So many have asked us what we need, what we are most concerned about, what they can do for us. \u00a0Today, I realized that we have exactly what we need in each other.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s amazing how sometimes God gives you exactly what you need before you even knew you needed it.
