{"id":5532,"date":"2011-04-05T07:15:12","date_gmt":"2011-04-05T12:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=5532"},"modified":"2011-04-05T07:30:09","modified_gmt":"2011-04-05T12:30:09","slug":"fontan-day-9-post-op-day-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=5532","title":{"rendered":"Fontan Day 9:  Post Op Day 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>7: 50 AM<\/strong> Little Miss is sleeping soundly, so I thought I&#8217;d take a moment to update.\u00a0 (It&#8217;s getting harder now that she is mostly awake during the day.)\u00a0 Yesterday, we had an amazing day!\u00a0 We really enjoyed getting out in the sun and playing in the Atrium, but I think it may have been tough on Mary Clare.\u00a0 She certainly wanted to get up and go. Her mind is so ready to tackle the world, but her little body just can&#8217;t handle it all yet.\u00a0 She still doesn&#8217;t have much of an appetite and has been vomiting.\u00a0 (Usually after she takes her meds.)\u00a0 She&#8217;s so funny and\u00a0 always wants to be in a shirt and a top.\u00a0 She insisted on dressing in &#8220;real clothes and shoes&#8221; yesterday for our outing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She also stood up and walked a bit at the train table in the Atrium and we even got her in the tub yesterday afternoon.\u00a0 (Finally going to the potty thanks to an enema-which resulted in a tub bath.)\u00a0 It was a quite an event getting her to and from the tub.\u00a0 Mel had left about an hour prior, so it was just me and her nurse wheeling her IV pole, tube boxes, and lines and inching our way to the bathroom with a naked MC.\u00a0 She was so happy to be taking a bath, but demanded her Barbie with the swim suit!\u00a0 She sat for a few minutes and played with her Barbie as her nurse and I hovered over her with her gear.\u00a0 I got her all cleaned up and she crashed within about 2 minutes of being in her clean bed and clean jammies around 6:30 PM.\u00a0 She woke up at 11PM and we sat in bed munching on ice and watching late night television and Face Talked with Daddy on the Iphone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Her nurse had to change the dressing on her central line in her neck yesterday, which is surgically sutured.\u00a0 (Quite an experience.)\u00a0\u00a0 And when she finished, Mary Clare looked up at me in all of her bandages and lines and said, &#8220;But Mommy, I&#8217;m not beautiful like this.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I had to explain that all of the scars on her tiny body were beautiful examples of all that she has accomplished.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I finally spoke to my 7-year-old teenager yesterday.\u00a0 She finally decided she wanted to take time to talk to her mom.\u00a0 Mel went home yesterday to check on the house, work a bit and go to his council meeting tonight, so he surprised McCanless after school!\u00a0 They went on a date to Bow Thai and called me from there.\u00a0 She already sounds so much older.\u00a0\u00a0 Mimi is keeping her involved in all of her after school activities and keeping her busy!\u00a0 Of course everyone at home is keeping close eyes on her, spoiling her, I&#8217;m sure.\u00a0 She has always amazed me with her maturity.\u00a0 I&#8217;m so thankful she understands and realizes why I have to be away from her right now.\u00a0 I thank God everyday for my many blessings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>7: 50 AM Little Miss is sleeping soundly, so I thought I&#8217;d take a moment to update.\u00a0 (It&#8217;s getting harder now that she is mostly awake during the day.)\u00a0 Yesterday, we had an amazing day!\u00a0 We really enjoyed getting out in the sun and playing in the Atrium, but I think it may have been [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5532","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5532","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=5532"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5532\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":5536,"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5532\/revisions\/5536"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=5532"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=5532"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=5532"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
