Mel’s mom gave me a\u00a0 “Boob” bible<\/a>.\u00a0 It tells me that I’m most likely in the “shock phase” of this journey.\u00a0 You know the one.\u00a0 “It can’t be me.”\u00a0 Denial, resentment at it’s finest.\u00a0 Maybe I’m there and don’t realize it, but what I am feeling is an overwhelming sense of awe.\u00a0 From the very moment I walked out of the exam room to meet Mel in the waiting room after my preliminary diagnosis, I’ve not felt alone in this journey.\u00a0 I am<\/em> in shock.\u00a0 I’m in shock, amazement, bewilderment and awe of each and every single person who has sent me cards, emails, messages, texts, prayers and love.\u00a0 Each and every single one overwhelms me and makes me feel surrounded in prayer and love. \u00a0 With every word and kind thought, I feel empowered.\u00a0 I was in the shower this morning, after looking at my bruised left breast, not hating the very part of me that’s betrayed me, but feeling today more like I can do this.\u00a0 I know I can do this.\u00a0 This will not consume my life.\u00a0 This is apart of my life and I’m going with it!<\/p>\n

So, I have cancer.\u00a0 So, I also have the most amazing friends and family and support that many never realize they have.\u00a0 If only everyone had an opportunity to realize how loved they truly are.\u00a0 How fortunate am I?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
