{"id":6477,"date":"2011-08-27T08:14:36","date_gmt":"2011-08-27T13:14:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=6477"},"modified":"2011-08-27T13:44:44","modified_gmt":"2011-08-27T18:44:44","slug":"way-to-go-girls-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=6477","title":{"rendered":"Way to go, girls team!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;m sitting on the porch this morning enjoying the cooler breeze that Hurricane Irene brings.\u00a0 The house is quiet as the girls and Mel recover from a week of early mornings.\u00a0 The weather is so odd.\u00a0 It was simply gorgeous last night with a Pinkalicious sky.\u00a0 In fact, Mary Clare was in her black kitty costume singing at the top of her lungs &#8220;PINK-A-LIIIIIIIIIICIOUS&#8221; on the front porch for quite a while.\u00a0 Then it became very cool and breezy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Same this morning.\u00a0 The sun peeked in my window early, waking me.\u00a0 As I grabbed my coffee and headed to the front porch, it became dark and cloudy.\u00a0 The cooler wind is nice, but I can&#8217;t help but feel for everyone north of us.\u00a0 I vividly remember Hurricane Hugo and it&#8217;s a scary, destructive force.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I love mornings.\u00a0 It gives me time to reflect.\u00a0 (And desperately needed quiet time alone-even if it is only 20 minutes.)\u00a0 I&#8217;m so proud of my girls.\u00a0 Here are a few comments I&#8217;ve received this week:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Mary Clare is a pleaser.\u00a0 She has an amazing imagination and is our class teenager.&#8221; Ms. Chure, Mary Clare&#8217;s 4K teacher<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;McCanless is so well-rounded. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it.&#8221; -Ms. Vonne, McCanless&#8217; first grade teacher<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;McCanless is a gem. She has a great sense of humor.\u00a0 She&#8217;s that child that &#8216;gets it.&#8217;\u00a0 I always have one in every class.\u00a0 She&#8217;s the one I can make eye contact with and we laugh together about something that goes over the other kids&#8217; heads.&#8221; -Ms. Jenner, McCanless&#8217;s 2nd grade teacher<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;m just like every other mom out there.\u00a0 I think my children are amazing and wonderful and completely perfect.\u00a0 (Most of the time, that is.)
