{"id":7320,"date":"2011-11-26T08:31:59","date_gmt":"2011-11-26T13:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=7320"},"modified":"2011-11-27T07:39:37","modified_gmt":"2011-11-27T12:39:37","slug":"one-for-the-swear-jar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.babypennington.com\/?p=7320","title":{"rendered":"One for the swear jar&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s ironic how the tiniest things can drive you right over the edge.\u00a0 And looking back, you think of how crazy you were over what?!\u00a0 This has been quite a year for us, and for the most part, I think I&#8217;ve held it together pretty well.\u00a0 I try to laugh in the face of turmoil most times, but this weekend, I&#8217;m not going to lie, my Christmas tree just about sent me jumping into Black Creek head first.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We had a fantastic Thanksgiving.\u00a0 I, <em>of course<\/em>, forgot my camera but we had so much fun at my mom and dad&#8217;s house this year.\u00a0 It&#8217;s been a couple of years since we Woodhams had everyone together for Thanksgiving and as always, we revert back to the days when we all lived under one roof.\u00a0 It&#8217;s pure chaos.\u00a0 Loud, obnoxious, wonderful chaos.\u00a0 We laugh, sing and dance and make fun of each other.\u00a0 My cheeks hurt on Thursday night as I lie in bed thinking of all the fun we had and laughs we shared.\u00a0 And of course, they made fun of MC&#8217;s Rudolph nose.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let me back up&#8230;On Wednesday as I was busy in my kitchen baking, I realized MC had dirt on her legs and feet from playing in the yard that morning and her face was quite dirty.\u00a0 She was using her stool to wash her hands at the sink.\u00a0 (MC is the human tornado destroying everything in her path most days, if you didn&#8217;t already know that and I was desperate to try to finish my Thanksgiving baking.)\u00a0 I had a brilliant idea.\u00a0 I scrubbed down my kitchen sink and filled it to the brim with bubbles and tea cups and plopped her right in.\u00a0 Just like old times.\u00a0 She still fit!!\u00a0 I could still do my baking, keep my eyes on her and she would be <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">contained<\/span> occupied.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, three days later she still has a huge deep red scab on her entire nose.\u00a0 Rudolph.\u00a0 We ended up at the pediatrician&#8217;s office about 30 minutes after that sink bath.\u00a0 Apparently, she used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pad (which I thought was way out of her reach) to &#8220;wash&#8221; her nose and ended up nearly scrubbing her skin off.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So today, my Christmas tree has been decorated, undecorated (realizing a bit too late that we have 100 sets of faulty lights) and my house looks like the day AFTER Christmas from a certain little tornado and I&#8217;m feeling like Mother of the Year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;m sure if you are reading my blog, you have seen other mom blogs.\u00a0 I have.\u00a0 Some have homeschooling <a href=\"http:\/\/mycharmingkids.net\/\">moms<\/a> with five kids all of which, are living and working on farms.\u00a0 Other blogs are written <a href=\"http:\/\/www.71toes.com\/\">by moms<\/a>,\u00a0 again with a slew of kids, who volunteer all over the country speaking to teens about Christianity, all the while having craft hour daily with their beautifully dressed, all-A children and photography businesses on the side. You know the ones.\u00a0 Perfection at it&#8217;s peak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I get it.\u00a0 They would rather showcase the happy times.\u00a0 Me too.\u00a0 But sometimes life just sucks.\u00a0 (That&#8217;s one for the swear jar, mom.
