I do have a red upper chest, and face, and arms&#8230;and legs, for that matter. I can&#8217;t say it&#8217;s from the radiation.\u00a0 Although if one more person proclaims, &#8220;Wow, look at that sun burn,&#8221; I think I&#8217;m going to tell them it is from the radiation. (wink, wink)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nMy radiation girls frowned upon my sun burn from the weekend. Apparently, it&#8217;s not so great for my skin to have both sun and radiation beams burning it simultaneously. (The long days spent on the beach this weekend were completely worth it, however, just so they know.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I&#8217;m continuing to drive to Columbia every morning, and I make it there by 9:00 am, only to walk out by about 9:15. I return to work by 11 and work until 3, my usual hours, just opposite of my typical 8-12. It&#8217;s working out nicely for me. I actually enjoy my hour drive alone, with my music and my coffee. No Pinkalicious Musical, no Taylor Swift.\u00a0 No one fighting over which channel or who has the iPad, or iPod or which set of headphones. No spilled drinks. It&#8217;s quite a nice drive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mel, on the other hand, isn&#8217;t a fan of the early mornings. I&#8217;m sure he&#8217;ll be happy when we get to #33.\u00a0 I leave around 7:15, just as the girls are awake and starting to dress.\u00a0 He&#8217;s in charge from there. \u00a0 It is getting better, however. He let me know that he did offer the girls breakfast this morning (without takers), he had them brush their teeth and had their hair brushed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dare I wonder what was accomplished on days 1-5 of my treatment? Oh well, at east they were only 10 minutes late today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We&#8217;ve been busy with trips to the zoo, the parks in town and the beach with Nonnie, and the usual dance, school and friends.\u00a0 McCanless has even been involved in a mini-basketball team at THA.\u00a0 She had her first game last Wednesday.\u00a0 She&#8217;s a key player on her team.\u00a0 I&#8217;m afraid it&#8217;s more about her height than skill at the moment, however.\u00a0 (She&#8217;s the tallest kid in her 2nd grade class and most of the 3rd graders as well.)\u00a0 If only she could leap and twirl across the court with the ball, she&#8217;d take &#8217;em down.\u00a0 Her team, &#8220;The Green Machine&#8221; won their first game and\u00a0 I was so proud of her.\u00a0 She does very well at acquiring the ball.\u00a0 We need to work on what she does with it once she has it, though.\u00a0 (Rather than pass it to the closest person on her team.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Life is busy.\u00a0 Life is good.\u00a0 Radiation will be complete before I know it and we&#8217;ll be soaking up more sun on the beach and by the pool.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today, I completed my 6th radiation treatment, and so far so good.
