The Paci isn’t going anywhere anytime soon…

Paci I

Paci II

Paci III

…but the diapers just may!  Mary Clare has done so well with potty training!  In fact, yesterday when I realized that I had forgotten to pick up a prescription, I threw Mary Clare and McCanless in the car to rush out, and I completely forgot what Mary Clare was wearing.  We made it through the pharmacy and on to Wal-mart before I realized that she had on her BIG GIRL panties!!  Then I thought, what better place to “roll the dice.”  If she were to have a “whoops,”  I could just buy new panties, right?  So, we took our time and I didn’t worry about it.  McCanless even looked up her back-to-school supplies. We loaded back up to head home (with washable carseat cover) and WE MADE IT HOME!  No accidents!

Big girl beds, big girl panties…if only they made a big girl paci.  How in the world am I going to give that up? Advice is certainly welcome.

Sara Abbett had a paci FOREVER!! I finally started cutting it down. Literally cutting it a little each night til it was hard work to keep it in her mouth. It took a while but worked.

Yay Mary Clare on the potty training! That’s so great 🙂 No idea of the paci…we have a thumb to worry about with Maddie. Don’t know which I’d rather have?!?

Sophia just gave hers up. We told her the binkie fairy was coming on a certain night and would bring her a present in exchange for her binkie. She asked why the fairy wanted her binkies! I told her she would give them to all the poor little kids that didn’t have any. She told our nanny the next day that she was giving her binkies to “poor kids”> Ha! Not what we meant. Anyway, we bagged them up and hid them. She loved the presents the fairy left and only asked for the binkies once after that. She was VERY hard to get to sleep for about 2 weeks, though. Good luck. You might make baby steps and just tell her she can only have them in bed, then go cold turkey when she is less interested in them.

I had to worry about a thumb…Kerri. Love you! Don’t worry, she’ll get rid of it soon enough! “Big” girl panties, potty training…that’s great for now. NONNIE

I would keep the paci until after her next surgery, the Fontan. It will give her lots of security as she recovers. She is a doll!!!

My oldest, now 38, had a paci until he was 4. He has beautifully straight teeth, and no one would ever guess he had it that long. It never bothered me to have 2 children with pacis. LOL
