CHD Awareness Week 2010
I always try to get a cute shot of my blueberry for her annual CHD Awareness Day Photo proudly displaying her battle scars.
Sounds easy, and it would be if
my little blueberry would only pause
even for a moment.
But then again,
this only reminds me of how blessed we are
to have such a spunky fighter.
Oh, how we adore that spirit and that scar!

Hi!
I came across your blog today. You have 2 beautiful girls.
I have a 2 year old daughter, Cassidy, who was born with Tetralogy of Fallot w/ PA & MAPCA’s.
I think blogs are a great way to get the word about about CHD’s and I commend you for what you’re doing.
My wife and I are also on a mission to spread the word about CHD’s. We just started a jewelry company called Lucky 10. All of our products are handmade and pertain to Heart Defects and the Heart Community in general.
Please check out our site when you get a moment. If you could help us get the word out about our new business we would be very grateful. It’s a project that’s very dear to our hearts.

Thanks so much and we look forward to reading more on your blog!
Thanks,
Vito Lisa
P.S. If you want to keep up with Cassidy’s journey here is her Carepage info:

Hi:
I just stumbled across your website…my son (who was adopted from China) came to us at the age of 3 with TOF and he is also very proud to show off his battle scar! And what a battle he had…my poor little guy was so weak and sick when he became my forever son but nothing was more beautiful than seeing his pink lips in the PICU at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago after his surgery.
Today at the age of five he is all boy! Playing soccer, t-ball and taking karate lessons. He wants to play football…we will see!
Thank you for this wonderful site!

She is the cutest! My favorite is the one where she is pointing at the scar with that “attitude” look on her face.. like she’s saying, “See what I can do! 🙂 “
