Just want to share…
The link below takes you to a post that is written by a mom whose beautiful son, Asher, recently conquered the Fontan, the third staged surgery for HLHS kiddos. (The third surgery Mary Clare will soon face.) Asher is doing well and I love keeping up with him. His mom is “real” and I thoroughly enjoy reading her posts. Today, her post is everything that I live and know and feel and believe with all of my being. I have never met this mom, but I feel so close to her, as I do with every other heart mom. Instant soul mates, we all are. We don’t have to know a thing about each other, other than that “she gets it.” So here it is, and boy, does she get it.

So glad you shared this! I’ve never seen this blog before…this mom is wonderful. It’s hard to put our feelings into words sometimes and Asher’s mom does it excellently! MC looks great, just a bit bluer though…will be praying for her cath in June 🙂 Take care & heart hugs!

Kerri, I’m so glad you posted this blog! For me it’s so easy sometimes to think everything is “okay” for MC, because she doesn’t appear to be sick or hurting! She’s always so happy, funny, very silly, and on the go that I tend to, not forget, but put the idea in the back of my mind that she has a special little heart! I am so lucky to have this miracle in my life! She is my hero! She makes me realize when I think I’ve had a bad day, it does not compare to what she has gone through and will go through for the rest of her life! I have no idea! I’m going to keep praying for her and “embrace life” the way MC does, with open arms and all my heart! I love her little half a heart with my all my heart!

i too have a son with a heart defect and we have been in the same place you are Dr Bradley has already done 2 open hearts on our little man he is 6 years old and full of life. reading through your post has bought tears to my eyes knowing that we will be there again one day, its bitter sweet i hate to see a child go through something like this but so glad to have doctors that can handle this and help make our kids better we see Dr Baker and are very pleased with MUSC i was showing Adam pictures of your little girl tonight he smiled and said awwww momma she is so pretty take care and just wanted to share this with you you have a beautiful little girl Thank God for blessings take care
